We spent part of the weekend out in Ocala National Forest for the Trail Revival Cleanup Weekend, based out of Big Scrub Campground, and it was one of those reminders that public land stays usable because people actually show up for it. The work was real. Trash cleanup, dumped tire removal, fallen trees, blocked trails, and the push to help reopen the Badge of Honor trail all made it clear this was more than just another weekend ride. Groups, sponsors, volunteers, rigs, trailers, tools, and families came together around the same idea. If we love these places, we should help take care of them.
What stood out most was the mix of effort and atmosphere. There was hard work during the day, but also the kind of weekend energy that makes these events matter beyond the task list. Camp check-ins, trail talk, shared meals, stories around the fire, and a bunch of people choosing to give their time to something bigger than their own trip. It was a cleanup weekend, but it also felt like proof that the off-road community can be at its best when it is not just using the trails, but helping restore them.
